The Dayton Foundation Wins International Awards for Outstanding Communications
For the eighth consecutive year, The Dayton Foundation has been named an award winner for excellence in communications by the international Wilmer Shields Rich Awards Program. Sponsored by the Council on Foundations, the premiere professional organization for all foundations in the U.S. and abroad, this international awards program recognizes effective communications efforts to increase public awareness of foundations and corporate giving programs.
The Dayton Foundation received two 2011 Bronze Awards, one in the special reports category for The Dayton Foundation’s "We help you help others℠ " 2009-2010 Report to the Community and the second award in the magazine and periodicals category for Good News, the Foundation’s general newsletter. The Dayton Foundation competed against entrants from the largest of the community foundations across the United States and also those from abroad (community foundations over $250 million in assets). The awards will be presented next month at the Council on Foundations' 62nd Annual Conference in Philadelphia, PA.
"The Foundation is honored to once again receive international recognition for excellence in communications," said Michael M. Parks, president of The Dayton Foundation. "Effective communications are vital to the Foundation’s goals of helping our constituents to help others and of providing public accountability."
