The Dayton Foundation Invites Nonprofits To Apply For A New $100,000 Social Innovation Award For Older Adult Programming
The Dayton Foundation is requesting Letters of Intent (LOI) for the Del Mar Social Innovation Award for Older Adult Programming. This new award is presented by a fund of The Dayton Foundation and will recognize the best innovations from Greater Dayton not-for-profit organizations that demonstrate break-through thinking in helping to address issues facing older adults (ages 55 and above). One or more organizations may be selected to receive the Del Mar Award and share the maximum grant amount of $100,000. The deadline to submit a completed LOI is January 15, 2014.
"Del Mar Healthcare is proud to offer this new award, which we hope will encourage Greater Dayton’s nonprofit organizations in exploring new programs or services for the benefit of older adults that they might not have been able to do without this funding," said Donald Ambrose, president of Del Mar Healthcare and advisor to the fund. "Partnering with The Dayton Foundation has allowed us to utilize their expert knowledge of the nonprofit sector and grant administration to advance our company’s charitable mission and better meet the needs of the Greater Dayton community."
The award seeks to support unduplicated, systemic and highly collaborative projects that enhance the quality of life for older adults or address trends affecting the region’s aging population. All 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit organizations with programs serving adults ages 55 and over in Greater Dayton are encouraged to apply. Organizations with LOIs that meet the funding guidelines will be notified to submit a full award proposal. The award recipient(s) will be announced on April 25, 2014.
