African-American Community Foundation - Scott Neal Simpson Scholarship
The Scott Neal Simpson Scholarship was established in 1999 to memorialize this gifted athlete and scholar by furnishing scholarships to Montgomery County high school graduates attending an accredited college or university. Scott Simpson died after lapsing into a diabetic coma while in his sophomore year at The Ohio State University, majoring in rehabilitation therapy.
Applicants must:
- be a resident of Montgomery County,
- have a minimum 2.5 GPA in a college preparatory curriculum (on a 4.0 scale),
- be enrolled full time,
- exhibit leadership, including tolerance and respect for others, and
- have participated in organized high school sports.
