Jeffrey M. Gardner Memorial Scholarship

The Jeffrey M. Gardner Memorial Scholarship is a renewable merit scholarship intended to help educate future engineers. Jeffrey M. Gardner was a 2003 valedictorian graduate of Northmont High School. Due to hard work and perseverance, he graduated summa cum laude in chemical engineering from Ohio University in 2007. Jeff earned his MBA from LSU in 2012. Upon graduating from Ohio University, Jeff began his career as a chemical engineer at BASF, with engineering assignments in Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Mannheim, Germany; Houston, Texas; and lastly, as plant manager in Livonia, Michigan. Elected to their executive candidate program, Jeff continued with BASF until his untimely death from cancer at the age of 38.

Applicants must:

  • be a graduating senior from Northmont High School,
  • have a minimum Grade Point Average of 3.5 based upon a 4.0 scale,
  • be accepted to a four-year college or university, and
  • planning to major in engineering.

Preference will be given to a student planning to attend Ohio University.
