Oakwood Schools Foundation - Oakwood High School Class of 1950, David R. Collins Scholarship
This scholarship was established in 2001 by Ann and Charles Simms in memory of David R. Collins, class of 1950, whose life was spent furthering and developing skills learned at Oakwood, especially in the fields of English, creative writing, and speech and drama performance. The scholarship assists Oakwood High School graduating seniors who demonstrate outstanding achievement in creative writing or speech and drama to further their studies at an accredited four-year college or university.
Applicants must:
- be a graduating senior from Oakwood High School,
- plan to study at an accredited four-year college or university,
- be able to demonstrate outstanding achievement in creative writing or speech and exhibit leadership qualities and good citizenship, and
- demonstrate financial need.
