Oakwood Schools Foundation - Barbara Nichols O'Hara Scholarship

During her years at Oakwood High School, there wasn't a sport that Barbara Nichols O'Hara (class of '59) didn't enjoy. While tennis, field hockey and basketball were among her athletic successes, she also was a high achiever academically and was actively involved in numerous school clubs and activities. At Northwestern University, she played tennis, basketball and field hockey, and she received the Women's Athletic Association's Outstanding Senior Award for her athletics, spirit, service and scholarship. Barbara was a founding member of the Greater Dayton Rowing Association. She is an avid tennis buff and golfer, and remains a lifelong supporter of Oakwood Schools.

Applicants must:

• be an Oakwood High School senior female athlete,
• have qualified or placed as an individual or as a member of an Oakwood athletic team at league, sectional, district, regional and/or state championships in her sport(s),
• have been awarded league, district and/or state honors in her sport(s) while at Oakwood High School, and
• exhibit leadership, spirit, poise and sportsmanship in all situations during practice and competition.

If all else is equal, financial need will be considered.
